Franck Ribery's early goal was cancelled out by German international Mesut Ozil early in the second half, but Mario Gomez came through for his team with a dramatic late goal that sealed a 2-1 victory for Bayern Munich.
Real Madrid, however, go home with a vital away goal that means a 1-0 win at home will send them through to the Champions League finals for a possible date with destiny with their bitter rivals Barcelona. Barcelona play the first leg of their semi-final against Chelsea tonight.
