The world-famous tourist destination has been chosen to host the start and finish of both the men's and women's road cycling time trial events during London 2012. Located in the Richmond borough of the capital, Hampton Court Palace has hosted many of Britain's kings and queens - including Henry VIII. The royal palace also has a great sporting background as it is the home to one of the oldest tennis courts in England. After taking in the boroughs of Richmond, Kingston upon Thames and Elmbridge, both time trial events will finish outside the palace grounds on Hampton Court Road.
