Opened in 1892, St James' Park is the home of Newcastle United FC and is the most northern venue in England being used for the Games. Both men's and women's football matches will be staged at the venue, with nine games in total being played there, including one of the quarter-final ties in each of the tournaments. The stadium is known for the passionate local supporters in the north east of the country who pack it out each week and are sure to create a superb atmosphere for the London 2012 events.
